The European Commission; the European Union’s (EU) governing body is investigating Apple Pay.
The Commission is investigating Apple’s (AAPL) practice of requiring app developers to accept Apple Pay, EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager has told Bloomberg News. Apple Pay is party of the Commission’s antitrust investigation of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL).
EU regulators are considering new rules that will require Apple to give iPhone developers access to rival payment apps such as PayPal (PYPL) and Google Pay, Vestager told Bloomberg.
